I needed some 'kitchen music' to motivate me to finish the washing-up so I put on The Madcap Laughs. I always forget how brilliant Syd was until I listen to him again *Kitchen music: Slightly laid-back homey folk/rock/atmospheric music such as one would play whilst working in the kitchen. Much of Pink Floyd's output from 1969-1972 falls under this category, and not just because of 'Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast'.
