... Otherwise known as 'The "I don't know where else to put this" thread' I found a list of working titles to Floyd songs. 'Comfortably Numb is particularly hilarious.

There's plenty of other fab stuff on the interwebs if you ever get bored *hinthint*. Check out the 'Demos, live performances and other alternate versions thread'-- if you find anything really good that I haven't posted, feel free to add it. I recommend you start with the Live At Pompeii film, as it's 'official' and therefore probably a bit better-filmed than some random fan recording, and also there's no audience to make noises. The Floyd were an absolutely STELLAR live band... I Wish I Were There, but as I can't, the next best thing is to watch footage.

Hey, I just remembered! I haven't given my two-bits on D SotM yet! The Lunatic before I begin, would this be a good thread for it or should I create a new thread for the discussion of the album and put it there?

ABSOLUTELY do create a thread; I've been meaning to for an embarrassingly long time but haven't for reasons unidentified.

If I may, if I might... call upon my fellow Floydnatics. So in this video of the Floyd miming to 'Let There Be More Light', there appears to be someone on the keyboards who is certainly (to my eyes) not Richard Wright. Here is a screencapture: Now, that certainly isn't Rick. It looks like... Ringo Starr! The good Forumpudlians of the fabulous Beatles Bible shot it down, insisting that it wasn't Ringo, but I remain firm in the belief that it is. I eagerly await to see what Sheepy and Weepy have to say (meddler has already made it clear elsewhere that she feels it is not Ringo).

Just look at around 1:49 to 1:51 ish! It shows his face, and it just appears that he has a stache! Perhaps it's the facial hair that makes you unsure? I'm not sure about Sheepy, but Weepy very much believes that the man is in fact darling Ricky, and not Ringo/some other guy. Just take a look! Also, side notes: 1. Is it just me or did you also not recognize David due to those beautiful locks? @u@ 2. I found another video of another song that looks to be from the same tv performance, perhaps it could be of help to anyone? (ALSO: If ya look closely, ye may see some luvely smiles from Rog and Nicky! *winks*) Here it is:

^^That seems to use much of the same footage as the other, but still... Gosh, Nick sure is a cutie. I love his grin, with those cute little teeths. And may I please steal his hat? I am a hat lover, and Nick has DA BEST HATS. Also that thing Roger does at 1:05 is one of the greatest achievements in rock music-- I made a gif out of it (it's over in the 'Floyd-picspam-by-yours-truly' thread). Still, hmmph... I don't believe it! IT'S NOT RICK!!!
And the reasons are as follows...
1. His overall body signature is Richy and not Ricky-- Rick looks like a quiet little chap plugging dutifully away at his keyboards, and this chap looks like a sad Walrus (which is what Ringo looks like). 2. His hands-- I've seen quite a lot of Rick's hands (the Live At Pompeii camerafolk seem to have a strange fascination with them), and they don't look like that-- they're not as slim and smooth. 3. Except for that one close-up in 'Let There Be More Light', the camera religiously avoids Mr Mystery Man. Granted, Rick was never hugely popular with cameras, but still-- seeing as he sings lead on both songs, you'd think they'd show him miming a bit more. 4. His hairstyle matches what Ringo had at the time (that droopy moustache and overgrown moptop), whereas Rick, to the best of my knowledge, had/was in the process of growing a beard: His hair was also considerably less layered than Ringo's. And he's got a bit more of a chin and less of a nose, and his lips are more square and IT JUST ISN'T RICK!!!!! If you do not concede, I shall keep piling fact upon fact on you, until your reason breaks down from the strain and admits me to be correct. (Come on, seamusthesheepdog , concur with me! You're my last hope! ) OR MAYBE I'M JUST CRAZY AND DELUSIONAL (which is quite likely, all things considered, and I'll be in good company *cough*Syd*cough*)
EDIT: Perhaps Rick was clean-shaven at the time. I have no idea. Anyway, I'm fairly sure he didn't have a droopy Walrus moustache.

So perhaps this will be the PiD of the Pink Floyd fandom!!!!! ?_? Very Random Sidenote: Hey, my ranking is finally Wall-related! And my stars are now green and submarine. ^u^

^^Nope, it'll be the 'Who sang the Ahhhs in A Day In The Life?' of the PFS. (I tried to find that thread to link to, but was unsuccessful... I'll find it tomorrow, it's too late to be sifting through topics on the BB.)

*breaks down and cries* That does look like the Wright one. Then how come he looked so Ringsy (or at least un-Rick-like) in the other? I am so confused... Once again I begin a fairly random Pink Floyd argument and end up conceding. I must stop picking losing battles.

I was just thinking that we could call "The Guy Who Isn't Rick (According to a Very Silly Floyd-Girl-Pinkerton)" Fake Rick or something. But alas, "Oh, Fick!" ye found another much better comparison to compare this situation to. Yeah, that was the shot I was talking about! T'is most definitely Rick; I could spot that kitty-cat face anywhere. ^u^

I remember many a time when I have mistaken/not recognised Beatles and Zeppelins and Floyds! It even happens to the most knowledgeable of us. :3
