Those moments when you realise just how barmy a Floyd Pink nut you are...
I know a lad named Robert, and I just mentally referred to him as Roger before I caught myself. Also, when you think 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' is just the perfect length, and worth every damn second (all one thousand five hundred and sixty of them). Oh yeah, and when you actually could be bothered to calculate how many seconds of 'SOYCD' there are. And when you've stopped thinking of the Beatles's 'Hey Jude' as oh so long because it's only a piddling seven minutes, which is fairly short or average for a PF song. And when you can even find it on the depths of your fangirl heart to admit that Roger is sometimes... occasionally... in the right light... kinda cute But he's mostly creepy ... And you like that.

Yeah! sisterthesheepdog said a four-minute song was long. That's nothin'.

^^To quote the Experts Themselves: RUBBISH! Also... when you can pinpoint the exact point in 'Sheep' where vocal segues into synth. And when you can sing along with most of 'SOYCD'... instrumental parts and all.

insert code here ...You use the track listing of The Division Bell as a data set in maths homework (well, I was listening to it at the time, so...).

...You listen to this alternate take/mix/whatever-'tis of 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' and you can mentally fill in all the bits that I left uptown were overdubbed later, even though they aren't on yet, because you've heard the final record so many times. Oh, yes, and when you devote 25 minutes to an alternate take that is only minimally different from the real thing (when you could just listen to the real thing, which has much better sound quality anyway), and you actually find it interesting. The same goes for all the other alternate (demos, live performances, etc.) versions that I've spent hours listening to. Crazy, toys in the attic...

...your mate gets you a framed gatefold sleeve from The Wall that he found in a vintage fair as an early birthday present: He knows me too well.

This is also kind of a Floyd Moment, but I thought it would do better here:
YKYACD when you realize that you've forgotten to hand something in and the first thing that comes to mind is the "You'd better run!" bit from Run Like Hell. ^-^

When you call the bit about colour and prisms in your school's science textbook "The Pink Floyd Section".

When hearing any high-pitched ping! sound can set off the entirety of 'Echoes' playing in your head for the rest of the day.
Cloudless every day you fall upon my waking eyes...

When you type the word 'pink', as in the colour pink, and your autocorrect thinks you mean Pink, as in Floyd. I guess I type 'Pink Floyd' a lot more often then I type the colour 'pink'.

When, on the very very very looooong drive home from your vacation, you get bored and write a very ill-planned (yet very entertaining) story about the Floyds.

We're reading Animal Farm for Humanities class, and the entire thing is a big Floydy moment. I decided to put this in this thread instead, however, because I can't stop making connections between the book and Animals! We have work assigned for it as well, and you can bet your Bikes that I've mentioned the Floyd at least ten times.

When your sister asks you to draw a maze for her, and you come up with this: If you look closely, you'll see that there's a goal for each track on the album, in order, and when you come out you go to the shining crazy diamond (the next album). Perhaps, though, I ought to have put a 'Ticket To Ride'...?

When some random bit of music in another room makes you think of the beginning of 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond', and you end up singing the whole first five minutes of it to yourself -- guitar solos and all -- before your recollection gives out.

Every time someone says 'More', my brain automatically adds 'Ummagumma'. Dreadful habit, but I can't seem to get out of it.
I have also been known to wander about the house muttering bits of Live At Pompeii dialogue to myself. ...A bloody great echo chamber, with about a thousand singers... 's gotta sound good.

I was at the shop getting a Pink Floyd t-shirt*, and someone made a daft remark about how old the Floyd are, and they broke up before I was even born. I went, 'And your point is?!' before informing them, 'Anyway, they only officially broke up three years ago, although they'd been mostly defunct for about twenty years'. *My very first. I'm quite pleased.

YKYACDW... Birds are chirping outside your window while you're listening to PF, and you wonder whether they're actually outside your window, or it's just a PF song with incessant bird chirps. (I know, soooo relatable.
