Roger roaring 'LIGHTS!' ... 'ROLL THE SOUND EFFECTS!!' ... 'ACTION!!!' and various other roaring thingies amidst a lot of other racket in 'In The Flesh'. 'Tis grand.

The little piano run in 'Us And Them', right after 'Up (up, up, up, up)'. The bit in 'The Great Gig In The Sky' where it quiets down a bit and you can hear a femaley voice whispering something about time which I can almost-but-not-quite make out no matter how high I turn up the volume and cram the headphones to my ears and it's driving me CRAAAAZY, over the rainbow, I am craaazy, truly gone fishing *hyperventilates* Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna... Ommmmmmmm... I think I'll be okay now. I'll get it... One Of These Days!

Last night I was listening to it on headphones, as I often do, and I did my usual volume-upping when I got to that bit, and I almost got it, so I went back over it and then... I GOT IT! It was, of course, a HUUUUUGE piphny moment.
Previously, I thought she said something about 'whisperings of time', but no-- what she actually says (and I believe I've read this somewhere) is, 'I never said I was frightened of dying.'

I haven't seen you round this thread much Mad Bugger, please feel free to join MORE: The reverse-echo-cymbal thingy that builds up to the 'How do you feel' part in 'Summer '68'; the distant bells in 'Fat Old Sun', which are the same ones as on 'High Hopes' and 'Louder Than Words' (Dave's drumming on that song is spectacular for someone who theoretically ought only to play guitar and occasional bass ); the Rick Rice Krispies sounds in 'Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast', about which just thinking will make me hungry; the circling footsteps in 'On The Run'; the weird faint high-pitched noise as Roger's saying '...please don't put your wires in my brain' in 'If'; the incredibly annoying kazoo in 'Corporal Clegg', which I usually skip because that kazoo grabs me in the wrong way; AAAAAAAAAAAAAANd... yet another Roger's scream, this time in 'Careful With That Axe Eugene'-- I've heard a million different live versions, but they're all brilliant. That's it for now... Floydspam out.

I haven't seen you round this thread much Mad Bugger , please feel free to join Okey dokey, if you say so! ^u^ Here are a bunch of nice little bits I like: - The fly buzzing in Hey You after "...and the worms ate into his brain." - The nee nee nee noooo four-note-guitar-thingy in SOYCD Parts I-IV - Also in the above song, the melody of the chorus/title bit, as well as the way Roger sings "You reached for the secret too soon."- The way Roger pronounces "space-cadet glow" in In The Flesh? - The short, sweetness of everything in Goodbye Cruel World; as well as the final "Goodbye." that cuts off - The entire ambiance (is that the Wright right word?) of Goodbye Blue Sky, and how it makes me feel like I'm in an endless meadow with flowers and a bright blue sky with fluffy, white clouds. Just beautiful, that song is. I just know there's more up there, but I can't seem to remember it at the moment. Eh, I'll post it later.

I'm back with more! - The kazoo bits in Corporal Clegg (especially the second one where they add in the "Corporal Clegg!"s), along with all the chatter and giggles nearing the end, and the way Dave sings "leg" and "rain" (man, do I love Corporal Clegg!) - David's velvety-soft vocals in Fat Old Sun; the way he sings " roll me up and lay me down"; the transition David makes from the lines "pick your feet up off the ground" and "And if you hear as the warm night falls"; yadda yadda yap yap yap this part too yap yap yadda yadda.... ......y'know what, I'll just count the entire song as a Floyd moment that really grabs me! - The doo do doo's at the beginning of Summer '68, as well as the baaaa ba ba ba ba baaaa's and Ricky's also very velvety vocals. - In If, the "If I were a good man" lines; the echo-y effect on the word "dream" in the line "If I were asleep, I could dream"; the way Roger sings "If I were a book"; more more more yadda yap..... .....okay, this entire song is a Floyd moment that really me too... But ESPECIALLY the lyrics! That could've been written out a tad better, but there's a lot to say about how much I love these songs.

YEEEAHHHH Same. I love that tune, and Dave's vocals are amazing... okeydokey, time to break out AHM... Don't forget the faint children's-laughter-sound-effects somewhere in the back!
- In If, the "If I were a good man" lines; the echo-y effect on the word "dream" in the line "If I were asleep, I could dream"; the way Roger sings "If I were a book"; more more more yadda yap..... I quite agree; but he doesn't ever say 'If I were a book', my dear Bugger. According to the Official Lyricsings, the If I Weres are as follows: a swan, a train, asleep, afraid, the moon, a rule, alone, and with you. Which is't? ...I'm surravit. *'Wish You Were Here' riff* Perhaps you're thinking of 'the moon' or 'a rule', which is where he's a bit mumbly and it's hard to hear what he says (I wouldnave known without looking at the Official Lyricsings). Whilst I'm here, I must say Dave doo-doo-dooing along with his guitar solo in 'Fat Old Sun' is a grabby Floyd moment for me. And the part of 'Summer '68' where it gets quiet and goes from 4/4 to 3/4 before 'Goodbye to you/ Charlotte Pringle's due'. And there's a bit of Dave's little guitar duet-with-himself where the lap steel guitar makes a slight mistake that I always find very charmingly imperfectly perfect.

I've made yet another mistake! Sorry 'bout that. Now that I think of it, the correct lyric must have been "rule", not "book".

IIFF you've only heard it a few times without looking at the 'Ficial Lyricsings it's quite understandable, as Roger's sanging is not very understandable in the song. Floydygrabbymoments: Dave's dododdoooodododoooing in 'Cymbaline'. And the chord-shift to Fmaj7 in the chorus (right after 'HIIIIIIIGH time *clong*').

Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one...
Dave's little run down under 'when I can' in 'Breathe (Reprise)'. His voice is gravel and honey (as per usual).

The melody change that accompanies the lyric change from 'And I think I'm growing old' to 'And I've grown old' in 'Wots... Uh The Deal' (which I'm slightly obsessed with at the moment).

Right now I'm really liking the "Oh no!" and the Roger-screech from Two Suns In The Sunset, as well as the gunshot sound and the way Roger sings "Through the fish-eyed lens of tear stained eeeeeyes" from The Final Cut.

'SILENCE IN THA STUDIO!' from 'Atom Heart Mother'-- pretty much the only part of the song that grabs me :/ (except the ending, which always grabs me and says, 'Hey, wake up, it's time for the GOOD side!' )

Can't think why I haven't mentioned this yet: the bass noodley-thing after the verse in 'Chapter 24'. And Roger's AAAAAAAA in 'Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk'. Also, the first time I heard the proper mono mix of 'Interstellar Overdrive', I was quite 'grabbed' by some lovely Rick-organ that was missing from the stereo mix I was familiar with. (Just listened to Piper, if you hadn't noticed ) Edit: After reading over the whole thread, OH MY GOSH I've not mentioned this yet?! The arrhythmic way Syd sings the line 'They're on the dish' in 'Bike' has always been a HUGE moment for me... his irregular rhythm matching his irregular head. I can't do it if I try.

The part of the second 'Comfortably Numb' solo where it goes an octave up soars high above everything else. I mean, everything in that solo grabs me, of course, but that especially.

Here I go again .... ( IIIIIIIII loooooooove yooooooooooou) Possibly my most favourite grabby Floyd moment in the entire catalogue is the bit in 'Breathe' where the lap slide comes in. The whole song is one long grabby Floyd moment of 'THIS is the essence of the Pink Floyd Sound' for me, and those three exquisite notes are the essence of the essence of the Pink Floyd Sound, if that makes any sense whatsoever. Basically, every time I hear the song and especially that slide, I remember anew just what I fell in love with when I fell in love with Pink Floyd. 💕 Same goes for the 'Wish You Were Here's riff, although not quite as much.

The 0:14 mark on Any Color You Like. That descending riff is indescribably cool.
