If you have a smartphone (some dumbphones have it too) then you can record things with the built-in microphone. And if you have an Apple thing, you can get Garage Band as an app so you can do multitrack recordings (guitar and vocals).

Ahhh, but I don't have a smartphone. Not one of me own, anyway, with a mic that works. Sigh...

You could record on a shared computer then email the files to yourself.

The Lunatic since you only dream what someone tells you to dream, I tell you that you can only dream about George Harrison chasing after a gang of Sharks and nothing else.

A not very random observation as I lie here on the dark, basking in DSOTM: I'm pretty sure that the vocals in 'Time' are ADT*'d.
* Automatic Double Tracking

I'm pretty sure that it's regular double tracking but I might be wrong

I'm pretty sure that it's regular double tracking but I might be wrong The reason I don't think it is regular double-tracking is because the two vocal tracks fit too perfectly together. It's a very expressive vocal with lots of little flourishes and anomalies that I doubt even the most experienced of double-trackers (which Dave is) would be able to do twice. And I'm a nut, so yes, it is important to me.

Um... I used to draw mostly girls, but recently, with these fab rock bands that I like to draw, I've been drawing more lads. I also like to draw the lads in my class while I'm in class (listening attentively, of course ) so there's that. I think I know why you ask

I think Rick's vocal IS ADT'd but Dave Gilmour's isn't. Listen to when he sings "racing around to come up behind you again"-- there is a very tiny difference in the way he sings "again". Also, there are several times when he hits consonants at very minutely different times.

I don't think so. *listens again* Ohhh, I see hear, there's a very very slight delay. Hmm. Thanks for spoiling me grand theory! Wow, Dave's even better at it than I thought. Wait, on second thoughts and third listening, I think that's just tape delay. So Only serious nuts would pay attention... I love having other serious nuts around I've always been mad, I know I've been.

I love having other serious nuts around Sorry to be stubborn, but there is no tape delay on his vocals. And if there was, it would sound like that the whole way through - which it doesn't. Especially near the end, there are very subtle differences in the vocals. Oh God, this is going to become the PFS version of "who sang the ahhs?"

^^Yep I still think 'tis definitely ADT. It's too singular a vocal performance to be recreated exactly. He'd sing it a different way every time. Like the way his voice cracks slightly on '...show you the way'. You wouldn't be able to do that twice, 'twas born of the moment. The end of the Breathe reprise is regular double tracking though.

I've listened to it again and it's absolutely definitely certainly regular double tracking, let's agree to disagree...

I surrender
I listened to it aga-y-ain, and I concede. Rick is ADT'd, Dave is DT'd. It was a lovely argument, though, thank you for obliging. And it provided a wonderful excuse to listen to 'Time' very very carefully over and over.

Nice new avatar, eh? (I think it's only temporary-- I got tired of the other and haven't finished a new one yet-- and I needed an excuse to look upon Roger's ever so amusing visage.)
